Fridqvist S, Ekholm A Basic object structure for computer aided modeling in building designAbstract:This working paper describes important considerations for development of a computer-based modelling tool for use in design. Such a tool must support the actions of a designer. The design tool presented here is both generic and consistent as a result of its foundation in a well-conceived ontological theory. At first the concrete things that are to be represented are described, then it is shown how these things can be represented, and a conceptual schema is suggested. Finally we discuss how operations on this data structure correspond to different design activities. Keywords: Full text: Series:w78:1996
