Authors: |
Vasquez de Velasco, Guillermo and Clayton, Mark |
Summary: |
The paper presents the experience of the authors in the development of a course syllabus and instructional materials in the domain of Computer Aided Design (CAD). In particular, the paper highlights the demands imposed by the fast development of applications relevant to the field of architectural design and the need to offer flexible access to instruction in such a field and domain. The paper describes two parallel implementations of a course on Computer Aided Design, in the second year of the curriculum, and two implementations of an Electronic Design Studio, in the fourth year of the curriculum. Both CAD courses and Design Studios are offered by the same professors and therefore a considerable level of integration has been achieved. For conclusions, the paper addresses the characteristics of the pedagogic model used for the integration of the courses. |
