| Summary: | The Internet or lntranet provides a useful media for diagnostic applications of HVAC systems. Compared to a written service manual, WWW representation offers a versatile tool for deliver- ing relevant diagnostic information to servicemen and customers. It makes it possible to change, correct and update diagnostic information and immediately send it to all users. Web pages can be linked to real diagnostic back-end programs running in a server computer. Such an extension creates interactive communication between the customer and the server that dif- fers from a classic clientlserver model. This paper presents necessary techniques and appro- priate tools for creating on-line interactive diagnostic applications on the Web. The technique is demonstrated in the fault diagnosis of an oil burner. |
