In this paper a methodology and a computer based planning and optimisation tool for theelaboration of dismantling concepts for buildings is presented. This system enables planners andproject managers to evaluate different strategies for cost and time efficient dismantling andrecycling of buildings, with regard to resource constraints. Based on databases which comprise ofbills of materials, data on dismantling techniques, construction elements, building materials, precedence relations, resources and dismantling costs, dismantling-networks are developed.Optimal dismantling strategies are evaluated by using a scheduling model, linked to the planningtool. Results show that with the help of this software tool the duration of dismantling and thedismantling and recycling costs can be reduced considerably. The developed concept was appliedto two buildings, located in Germany and France are shown. These projects show that by the help ofthe developed tools up to 94% of all building materials can be recycled, and in some cases the costsof dismantling are lower than those for demolition. |
