Summary: |
Over the last few years the notion of sustainability has gained momentum within investment markets, particularly for property assets. Within the property space, much of sustainability debate has focused on operational aspects with little emphasis on investment. The aim of this paper is to assess key issues surrounding the impact of sustainability from an investment perspective. A number of the major Australian and New Zealand property investment fund managers were interviewed to assess the strategic implications of sustainability to commercial property investment. The findings provide an insight into the pricing and valuation of sustainability, how it is likely to change the investment product landscape and the composition and management of existing property investment portfolios. |
