This paper presents an Organization Based Information Architecture (OBIA). Thisarchitecture has been developed to support the upper level decision dingprocesses of construction organizations. The information in the OBIA is separatedinto five main categories: Organization, commitment, process, environment, andfacility. These categories were identified through expert interviews and case studyevaluation. The main categories of inform provide an information structurewhich supports strategic level decisions within a construction organization such asproject risk assessment, selection of future projects and strategic planningfunctions. These decisions require information which is not well defined by projectspecific information structures developed in previous research efforts. |
