Summary: |
This study aims at developing a collaborative environment for constructionprojects in order to computerize the project management of buildingconstruction. As a first simplification, the project management team isassumed to consist of the following staffs, manager, planning staff, technical staff, production staff, quality staff, material staff and financialstaff, each representing a function for the project. It is proposed in thisstudy that, a collaborative environment is provided and that each staff workson the environment to fulfill his own work, to share the project informationwith other staffs according to predefined rules for information access, and tocoordinate with them. Domain models have been established, and aprototypical collaborative environment, which is used to manage the totalproject information in the proposed pattern and works on a client/serverdatabase management system on Local Area Network (LAN), has beendeveloped. |
