Summary: |
Emerging digital interoperability causes pressure and uncertainity within thelabor-intensive industries. This is particularly true for construction industry. Therefore ITC faces great challenges. One of the most teasing challenges is theproblem of transparent data exchange within product lifecycle. Data exchangebased on concepts like data import/export, single standard agreement and commonscheme does not perform satisfactory. In the paper integration through repository of concepts - ontologies withinapplication domain is promoted. Manipulation of concepts is based on logicalderivations of explicit knowledge. Integration issues that arise in a federation ofheterogeneous data sources, possible storing related information, are investigated.Using our approach it is possible to compose a product model from heterogeneousdata sources. We also suggest the use of a multi-agent system where agents takecare for queries from multiple sources. |
