Paper title: Virtual engineering backbone - coordination by design
Authors: Line L
Summary: This paper discusses a conceptual framework for a construction-engineering network. Theconcepts are based on experience from a medium sized and distributed Norwegianengineering company (ASPLAN-VIAK) and ideas from socio-economic research andapplied coordination theory. Critical success factors for establishing a virtualorganisation that can take advantage of the potential and opportunities offered by moderninformation and communication technology are focused.
